Zen philosophy has a "enkei." The "circle" written in one stroke is filled with all the universe. Enlightenment and truth are expressed there. I like the works that are accompanied by "Konkofute-cha-no-me" to the enmity of the priest Senae. It is a world of enlightenment that can only be reached after training, but every year I write "yen" that reflects the present as it is.
禅の思想に「円相」があります。一筆書きで書いた「円」の中に全ての宇宙が詰まっている。そこには、悟りや真理が表現されます。私は仙厓和尚の円相に「これくふて茶のめ」と添えらえた作品が好きです。修行を経たものしか辿り着けない悟りの世界ですが、私なりにあるがままの今を映し出す「円」を毎年の書き初めとしています。
