It is very inconvenient to live in, but once you see a snowfield or a snowy mountain covered with white, you will feel like your heart is washed up by the divinity. As I grew up in a snowy country, snow is indispensable. Snow has been regarded as a sign of good fortune even in the Heian period. Snow melting water has also become a valuable source of water that brings fertility to the five grains. I wrote it in awe of the snow.
生活をする上では、非常に不便な雪ですが、一面が真っ白に覆われた雪原や雪山を一度、目にしたならば、その神々しさに心が洗われ立ちつくすような感覚になるでしょう。雪国育ちの私にとって、雪はなくてはならないものです。雪は平安時代も、「吉祥の兆」とされてきました。雪解け水も五穀豊穣をもたらす貴重な水源となりました。雪への畏敬の念を込めて書きました。
